Wow - what a difference 9-10 months can make! I keep revisiting this concept of journeying within myself and journaling in the process, and it seems that each time I come back to this place that life and God has thrown us another curve. Still in the same place, still working for the publishing house. What is different is how God has orchestrated situations to bring us to a place of service and community once again!

We began a little over a month ago serving once again on a church staff. This time it looks completely different from the past, though. I'm working two jobs now - serving for the church bi-vocationally. I work from my home, during my lunch hours, during the commute to & from work each day, etc. Because of the time and work constraints it forces me to focus on the things that are really important - the relationships with the young adults we are ministering alongside. We will begin bringing a group of people into our home probably within the month, something that we have missed since our move over a year ago and our last church family.

I no longer feel like a 'sell-out.' In fact, the entire process of God bringing us on staff at our current church was just a re-affirmation of what He has been about in my life over the last several years - many of which I have written about my journey here. I knew that the life God had led us into when we first arrived in our current home/job/surroundings wasn't a complete picture. I knew that, while a blessing in so many ways, it didn't answer some of the questions that God had placed in my heart and head over the last couple of years.

Now I'm beginning to feel complete again. The sabbatical, of sorts, from ministry has been a good one, but even with my feel barely wet again it feels like home. I'm excited to see where God continues to lead me/us in the coming months/years!
